Academy of Teaching and Education and Learning and the Mayor's Book Club
The Mayor's Office of The City of Hampton has created the Mayor's Book Club.  The Mayors office has selected a specific book each month from November to March.  The Mayors office is collaborating with the Academy of Teaching and Education and Learning students to read a book to a class of Pre-K students.
On January 15th, The ATEL class "Introduction to Early Childhood Education and Services" is sending  selected students  to a class of Pre-K students at Andrews Elementary school to read "Splat The Cat".
The Mayor's office has purchased a class set of books to be distributed to the students after the book has been read to them.  The students attending the reading at Andrews Elementary School are; Alexandra Rubin, Arianna Barrett, Ashley Proffitt and Sarah Silva-Alva.
