All advertised scholarship applications will be posted on Naviance unless otherwise noted. Check your school email and Naviance account reguarly for updates.
Most applications require you to include an official transcript. Transcript request forms are available in the counseling office.  There is a $2.00 charge for each official transcript requested. The counseling office secretary is allowed five school days (ten during December, January and February) to fulfill your transcript request.
READ DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!
Scholarships Elsewhere:
Contact your employer, your parents’ employers, civic and social clubs, your church, etc. for other sources of aid. Sometimes there is few competition for these sources.
The Internet is a great source of scholarship information. Begin with the Scholarship & Financial Aid on the World Wide Web handout (located in the counseling office)
A lot of free information on scholarships is available. Do not pay anyone to do a search for you!

Be sure to bring copies of all financial award and acceptance letters to the guidance office, even if you are not attending that college/university. Verified scholarships/awards/grants are announced at graduation.

FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIP ADVICE
1.      Treat looking for scholarships as if it were your job.  Put in the time and you will get paid!
2.      Do as many scholarship searches as you can.  Finding them is half the battle.
3.      Be involved in school, church and community activities. This is the best way to make an application stand out.
4.    Study hard and get good grades.  ACT/SAT scores count.
5.    Treat every scholarship application like a jewel.  Make the application perfect.  TYPED IS GREAT!.
6.    Do some volunteer work.
7.    Check all the local chapters of national organizations.  Rotary, Lions, Elks, etc.
8.    Pick the right people to write your recommendations.
9.      Do not shy away from scholarships based on difficult essays.  If everyone is afraid of them, less people apply.
10.    Above all, BE HONEST.  Do not lie about finances, grades, work experience, or anything!
And finally…
11.    DO NOT PAY anyone who claims to be “holding” a scholarship or grant for you.  Free money should not cost a thing!!
